Biocomposites for Technical Applications - Life Cycle and Sustainability

ISBBB 2018 is pleased to present the workshop on "Biocomposites for Technical Applications". This workshop will involve tutorial presentations and be complimentary to all interested conference attendees.

The first part of the workshop will focus on latest research and industry advancements in the field of biocomposites for lightweight applications, including focus areas, material property requirements, and market analysis. Special emphasis will be placed on the new composite products: biobased hybrid composites combining high-performance and natural fibers with biobased plastics for matrices.

In the second part of the workshop, the focus will be on improving compatibility between different fibers in biobased hybrid composites. Advantages and limitations of various fiber surface treatment methods and their impact on the resulting composite performance will be discussed.
