Dr. Yulin Deng is a professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he leads the Deng Research Group in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Dr. Deng holds a B.S. from Northeast Normal University, China, and completed his Ph.D. at Manchester University, United Kingdom. His research interests include biomass and biofuels, applications of nanocellulose, interfacial science and engineering, nanomaterial assembly, and pulp and paper engineering. Dr. Deng's research covers multiple fields with various applications, including energy storage and production, drug delivery, coatings, structural materials, sensors and paper recycling. 

He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science, as well as a member of the American Chemical Society, American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry. Dr. Deng has published numerous peer reviewed journal articles, and is a member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals in his field.
