Yaseen earned his B.S. in chemical engineering from Michigan State University and his M.S. and Ph.D from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His dissertation research focused on the development of advanced polymer thin films for surface engineering, from both a process design and product performance standpoint. After completing postdoctoral training at the University of Michigan, he joined the USDA Agricultural Research Service, where he currently conducts research on technologies for producing renewable chemicals and materials from pyrolysis oils. Yaseen has co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. His accolades include the USDA Early Career Scientist of the Year Award in 2015.
