Dr. Kazunari Masutani was born in Kyoto in 1982. He received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in polymer chemistry from Kyoto Institute Technology in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Since 2012, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Fiber and Textile Science of Kyoto Institute Technology. His current research interests focus on synthesis and characterization of polylactides and the other bio-based polymers derived from renewable natural resources. He also launched a venture company for 3D printing material. Dr. Masutani received GSC Student Travel Grant Awards from Green Sustainable Chemistry Network in 2011, four poster awards in 2010, 2011, 2016 and 2017, Young Researcher Award and the paper award from The Society of Fiber Science and Technology in 2012 and 2016.
