Takashi AOKI was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. He began his academic training under the mentorship of Prof. Naoya OGATA in Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan, where he received his M. Sc. in chemistry in 1988. He joined Prof. N. Ogata laboratory as a research associate in 1991 and received his Ph.D. degree in 1997. He thereafter moved to Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2000 as an associate professor. Now He is an associate professor in the Department of Biobased Materials Science, Faculty of Fiber Science and Engineering, KIT. His research interests are novel biobased materials and bio-compatibility of biomaterials.
