Ir. Djibril DRAME is an Agroindustry Officer at the Nutrition and Food Systems Division (ESN) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), with a food technologist background, graduated from the “Institut Agronomique et vétérinaire Hassan II, Morocco”. He has more than twenty (20) years of working experience (research, academic and development), including seven years at FAO. His current activities at FAO Headquarters include technical assistance to member countries in the formulation and implementation of projects/programs, policy frameworks and strategies relating to food processing, storage, food packaging improvement, food loss and waste reduction and the development of sustainable food cold chains, in developing countries, as well partnerships with public and private organizations. The objectives are relating to: (i) contributing to improve efficiency in food systems post-harvest stages, as well as market access and income for actors in agri-food value chains, (ii) reducing food loss and food waste (iii) ensuring the sustainability of natural resources, and food and nutrition security. To his credit, numerous projects and research results as well as various trainings and feasibility studies and publications relating to postharvest processing, storage and value addition to grains, fruit, vegetables and animal products (milk, fish and meat).
